I worked on CrossfireX Operation Catalyst in the final phase before shipping. I was part of different project-wide task forces and was involved in finishing up Chapter 2 Premonition.
The advanced state of the project required me to focus on the technical side of the job, which is mostly invisible to the player. First, I took part in different task forces upgrading outdated physics setups and improving materials to follow quality and PBR standards. Later, I worked closely with other disciplines like level design, technical design, tech art, lighting, and VFX on polishing and optimizing chapter 2. The optimizations included LOD and HLOD setups, shadow casting settings, terrain performance improvements, and finding and implementing possible areas for streaming. These changes helped the game run smoothly on old consoles.
